A Mother and Son Flee From the Terror in Ukraine and Make a Life-Changing Decision

Iryna Khvorostiana bravely left Ukraine in hopes of protecting her youngest son from the hardships of war. In addition to leaving a country she loved, Iryna's immediate family members remained behind, including her eldest son, who serves in the Ukrainian Air Force. Natasha Pleshkova helped provide a pathway to safety in the U.S. to Iryna and her youngest son, Oleksander, through sponsorship. Iryna and Olesksander found refuge and a welcoming community during this challenging time with Natasha's support.
