Terms of Use

WELCOME.US TERMS OF SERVICE

Last updated 6/29/2026

Section 1 – Welcome and Agreement to These Terms

Welcome to Welcome.US. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) explain the rules for creating an account, using the Welcome.US platform, and participating in Welcome.US programs, volunteer opportunities, tools, and related services.

These Terms are an agreement between you and Welcome.US, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (“Welcome.US,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They apply to your access to and use of: (1) the Welcome.US websites, platform, accounts, tools, services, programs, volunteer opportunities, and related offerings; and (2) the Welcome.US online store and related products, shopping and order-related features, and other related offerings (the “Store”). We refer to the offerings described in clauses (1) and (2) collectively as the “Services.” Please read these Terms carefully.

By creating an account, registering as a volunteer or other participant, completing a profile, clicking “I agree,” checking an assent box, or otherwise accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE, YOU MAY NOT CREATE AN ACCOUNT, PARTICIPATE IN WELCOME.US PROGRAMS, PURCHASE PRODUCTS OR USE THE SERVICES.

Please also review our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, disclose, and otherwise process personal information, including personal information collected through the Store and other Services. If there is a conflict between these Terms and the Privacy Policy, the Privacy Policy controls with respect to the collection, use, disclosure, and processing of personal information. You are also expected to follow our Community Guidelines and any additional program rules, Service Addendums, Store policies, or other terms that apply to the Services you use. Links to respective Community Guidelines are here: Hire Connect, Citizenship Volunteer Program, Welcome Connect.

Please note: These Terms include important provisions that affect your legal rights, including disclaimers, limits on Welcome.US’s responsibility, a time limit for bringing claims, a jury trial waiver, and a class action waiver. Please review these Terms carefully.

Section 2 - How These Terms Work

Some Services may have additional terms, which we call “Service Addendums.” A Service Addendum applies only to the specific Service, program, or feature it describes. If there is a conflict between these Terms and a Service Addendum, the Service Addendum will control for that specific Service, program, or feature. These Terms will continue to apply in all other respects.

We may also provide training materials, FAQs, onboarding materials, Community Guidelines, Store policies, or program rules. Those materials help explain how a Service, program, or feature works and how users are expected to engage with Welcome.US, the Services, and each other. They supplement these Terms but do not override these Terms unless they expressly say so.

Current Service Addendums include:

Citizenship Volunteer: These terms apply to your use of the Welcome.US Citizenship Volunteer Platform.

HireConnect: These terms apply to your use of the HireConnect platform.

Fundraising Terms: These terms apply to donations, recurring donations, donor communications, payment features, donation pages, campaign pages, GoFundMe Pro, GoFundMe Pay, and related donor-facing fundraising functionality made available by or on behalf of Welcome.US.

Welcome.US Store Addendum: These terms apply to your access to and use of the Store, including browsing products, placing orders, checkout, payment, returns, refunds, shipping, delivery, and related store policies.

Section 3. Using the Services

Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, access the account-based Services, purchase products through the Store, or participate as a volunteer, welcomer, tutor, learner, newcomer, job seeker, employer, or other participant. Some Services may have additional eligibility requirements.

Your Account. You may need to create an account to use certain Services. When you create an account or complete a profile, please provide information that is accurate, current, and complete. This may include your name, email address, zip code, availability, communication preferences, volunteer interests, experience, languages spoken, pairing preferences, and other information relevant to the programs in which you choose to participate.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential. Please do not share your account with anyone else. If you believe your account has been accessed without authorization, please contact us promptly at [email protected].

Program Participation. Completing registration or a profile does not guarantee that you will be accepted into a program, paired with another participant, assigned to a particular volunteer opportunity, or given access to every Service. We may accept, decline, defer, waitlist, pause, or end participation where appropriate, including based on program capacity, eligibility, safety, conduct, or operational needs.

Some programs may have additional rules, training requirements, or participation guidelines. By participating in those programs, you agree to follow those requirements.

Feedback. Welcome.US may ask for feedback, session reports, pairing assessments, surveys, or other information about your volunteer experience. This helps us support participants, improve our programs, and better understand program outcomes.

Section 4. Your Responsibilities

General Responsibilities Welcome.US programs work best when participants treat one another with respect, honesty, and care. When using the Services or participating in Welcome.US programs, you agree to: (a) use the Services only for lawful, program-related purposes; (b) provide accurate information and keep your account and profile information reasonably up to date; (c) communicate respectfully with Welcome.US, other participants, volunteers, newcomers, learners, employers, partners, and other users; (d) follow these Terms, the Community Guidelines, applicable Service Addendums, Store Terms and policies, and any program rules; (e) respect other participants’ privacy, boundaries, time, and communication preferences; (f) promptly report safety concerns, inappropriate conduct, requests for money, or other issues through the tools or contact information provided by Welcome.US; (g) use information you receive through the Services only for the Welcome.US program or purpose for which it was provided; and (h) keep personal information you receive about other participants private and use it only for the applicable Welcome.US program or purpose for which it was provided.

Prohibited Conduct You agree not to misuse the Services. For example, you may not: (a) misrepresent who you are, your qualifications, your experience, or your affiliation with any person or organization; (b) collect, store, use, or share another participant’s personal information except as permitted for the applicable Welcome.US program, or use contact information, profile information, or other information received through the Services to contact another participant outside the applicable Welcome.US program, after a pairing or program ends, or after the participant or Welcome.US asks you to stop, except as expressly permitted by Welcome.US; (c) harass, threaten, abuse, discriminate against, exploit, or harm another person; (d) send spam, unauthorized promotions, political campaigning, fundraising solicitations, or other unsolicited messages through the Services; (e) solicit or request money, gifts, loans, donations, employment, housing, immigration sponsorship, or other financial or personal benefits from another participant, unless Welcome.US has expressly permitted it in writing or in applicable program rules; (f) provide legal, immigration, employment, tax, medical, financial, or other professional advice through the Services; (g) upload or transmit malicious code or interfere with the operation or security of the Services; (h) use bots, scrapers, AI agents, or other automated tools except as permitted under the “Automated Tools and AI Agents” section below; (i) post or transmit content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, infringing, misleading, or otherwise harmful; (j) use the Services in a way that violates applicable law or the rights of another person; (k) record, photograph, screenshot, publish, or share another participant’s image, voice, communications, or personal information without appropriate permission and compliance with applicable law; (l) attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services, another account, or any systems or networks connected to the Services; (m) bypass, disable, interfere with, or circumvent any security, access-control, rate-limiting, or other protective measures used by the Services; (n) reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code or underlying structure of any non-public part of the Services, except to the extent applicable law prohibits this restriction; (o) use the Services or information obtained through the Services to build, train, improve, or support any competing product, service, model, database, or platform; or (p) use the Services if you are prohibited from doing so under applicable law, including U.S. sanctions, export control, or anti-terrorism laws, or if your use of the Services would cause Welcome.US to violate such laws.

Automated Tools and AI Agents. You may not use, allow, enable, or deploy any bot, scraper, crawler, spider, data extraction tool, automated purchasing tool, automated account-creation tool, AI agent, agentic AI system, autonomous or semi-autonomous software, or other automated means to access, interact with, purchase from, scrape, copy, monitor, test, or otherwise use the Services without Welcome.US’s express prior written permission. This includes using automated tools or AI systems to extract content, product information, pricing, images, training materials, program materials, user information, or other data; to build, train, improve, evaluate, benchmark, or support any AI system, model, database, or competing product or service; or to bypass rate limits, access controls, CAPTCHAs, robot exclusion headers, authentication controls, or other protective measures. Welcome.US may block, throttle, suspend, terminate, or otherwise restrict any automated access or use of the Services.

Section 5. Interacting with Other Participants

Some Services may help connect, match, or pair you with other people, including volunteers, newcomers, learners, job seekers, employers, partner organizations, or other participants. These connections may take place on the Welcome.US platform or through off-platform channels such as email, phone, text message, WhatsApp, video call, or in-person meetings.

We try to support meaningful and appropriate connections, but we cannot guarantee that you will be paired, that a pairing will meet your preferences, that another participant will be responsive or available, or that a pairing will lead to any particular result.

Welcome.US may use information you provide, such as your availability, location, language preferences, interests, experience, and communication preferences, to help facilitate pairings. Welcome.US may pause, cancel, reassign, or modify pairings where appropriate, including for program, safety, capacity, conduct, or operational reasons.

Please use good judgment and follow the Community Guidelines when interacting with others. Welcome.US does not control what participants say or do, and we are not responsible for the conduct, statements, availability, responsiveness, or actions of any participant, whether online, offline, on-platform, or off-platform.

Unless Welcome.US tells you otherwise for a specific program, Welcome.US does not conduct background checks, identity verification, credential verification, or other screening of all participants. If Welcome.US does conduct screening for a particular program, that screening may be limited and should not be treated as a guarantee of safety, suitability, or future conduct.

Welcome.US has no obligation to monitor, review, or preserve any content, communications, or activity on the Services, but may do so where we believe appropriate to operate, protect, or improve the Services, enforce these Terms, comply with law, or support participant safety.

Some programs may involve sharing limited contact information with a paired participant so you can communicate and participate in the program. For example, if you are paired with another participant, Welcome.US may share your name, email address, and, if you choose to provide it for that purpose, phone number with your paired participant. Please use another participant’s contact information only for the Welcome.US program for which it was shared.

If you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, receive an inappropriate request, believe someone has violated the Community Guidelines, or have another concern, please report it through the reporting tools available in the Services or contact us at [email protected]. Welcome.US is not an emergency services provider and does not monitor the Services for emergencies. If you believe there is an emergency or immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

Section 6. User Content and License

You may submit information through the Services, including profile information, volunteer preferences, availability, session feedback, issue reports, comments, messages, survey responses, and other content.

You remain responsible for the information you submit. Please make sure you have the right to submit it and that it is accurate, respectful, and consistent with these Terms and the Community Guidelines.

You grant Welcome.US a right and license to use the information you submit as reasonably necessary to operate, administer, provide, improve, evaluate, and protect the Services and Welcome.US programs; facilitate pairings and communications; respond to reports or support requests; comply with legal obligations; create de-identified or aggregated information; and further Welcome.US’s nonprofit mission, in each case consistent with the Privacy Policy and applicable law. If you deactivate your account, Welcome.US may retain and use certain information as described in the Privacy Policy, including where needed for legal, safety, program administration, recordkeeping, or legitimate nonprofit purposes.

If you provide suggestions, ideas, or feedback about how to improve Welcome.US or the Services, you agree that Welcome.US may use that feedback without restriction or compensation to you.

Welcome.US may review, remove, or restrict access to content submitted through the Services where we believe it violates these Terms, the Community Guidelines, program rules, or applicable law, or where we believe doing so is appropriate to protect Welcome.US, the Services, or other participants.

Section 7. Service Related Communications

Welcome.US may contact you about your account, your participation in programs, pairings, training, scheduling, feedback, safety or support issues, updates to the Services, and other service-related matters. We may do this by email, platform messages, in-app notifications, or other methods you provide or select.

Some programs may allow or encourage paired participants to communicate directly with each other using email, phone, text message, WhatsApp, or other tools. Those communications may occur outside the Welcome.US platform. Welcome.US does not control third-party messaging services or off-platform communications between participants.

If Welcome.US offers SMS text messaging, we will provide any required consent and opt-out disclosures in the relevant sign-up or communication flow. Standard message and data rates may apply. We may also send you newsletters, fundraising, or other outreach communications where permitted by law. You may opt out of marketing or fundraising communications as described in those messages, but you may still receive service-related communications while you maintain an account or participate in a program.

By accessing the Services from a mobile device, you acknowledge that your wireless or internet service provider's standard data rates, SMS rates, MMS rates, and other charges may apply. You are responsible for any fees incurred in connection with your use of the Services.

Section 8. Important Limits on Welcome.US’s Role

Welcome.US provides nonprofit programs and tools to support welcoming, volunteering, connection, and related activities. However, unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing, Welcome.US does not provide legal, immigration, employment, tax, financial, medical, or other professional advice.

The Services are not a substitute for advice from qualified professionals. In particular, citizenship preparation support, conversation practice, mock interview practice, or other volunteer support provided through the Services is not legal advice, immigration advice, or legal representation.

Volunteers, welcomers, tutors, learners, newcomers, job seekers, employers, and other participants are not employees, agents, legal representatives, or partners of Welcome.US. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, agency, partnership, joint venture, fiduciary, attorney-client, sponsor, or similar relationship between you and Welcome.US. Participation as a volunteer is unpaid. Volunteers are not employees of Welcome.US and are not entitled to wages, compensation, employee benefits, expense reimbursement, unemployment insurance, workers’ compensation coverage, or other employment-related rights or benefits from Welcome.US for their volunteer participation.

Welcome.US may provide program rules, training, guidance, support, moderation, or reporting tools, but doing so does not make Welcome.US responsible for monitoring all activity or for the acts, omissions, statements, or conduct of individual participants.

Section 9. Third-Party Services

The Services may include links to or integrations with third-party websites, applications, services, messaging platforms, employers, partner organizations, payment processors, fundraising platforms, or other resources. Examples may include tools used for messaging, donations, fundraising, scheduling, or employment-related opportunities.

Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Welcome.US does not control those third-party services and is not responsible for their content, availability, security, privacy practices, or actions. A link to or integration with a third-party service does not mean Welcome.US endorses that service or is responsible for it.

The Services may include donation or donor-facing fundraising features, including features powered or supported by third-party fundraising platforms, payment processors, donor-management tools, or related providers. Those features may be subject to additional Service Addendums, third-party terms, and third-party privacy policies.

Section 10. Intellectual Property

Intellectual Property and Content The Services, including the text, graphics, logos, designs, software, tools, training materials, program materials, and other content made available by Welcome.US, are owned by or licensed to Welcome.US and are protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, Welcome.US gives you a limited, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to access and use the Services and Welcome.US content for your personal, non-commercial participation in Welcome.US programs. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, license, or use Welcome.US content for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.

Copyright Complaints (DMCA) Welcome.US respects the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that your copyrighted work has been infringed by content accessible through the Services, you may submit a notification pursuant to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 ("DMCA") by providing the Designated Agent below with the following information in writing (see 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)): (a) a physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner; (b) identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed; (c) identification of the material claimed to be infringing and information sufficient to locate it; (d) information sufficient to contact you (address, telephone number, email); (e) a statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and (f) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner. Please email us at [email protected] for any DMCA Take Down Notice. It is Welcome.US's policy to terminate the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.

Section 11. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the Services or deactivate your account at any time by contacting us at [email protected] or using any account tools we make available. Welcome.US may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account, remove or restrict access to content, limit your access to the Services, participation in a program, or a pairing where we believe it is appropriate, including if: (a) you violate these Terms, the Community Guidelines, a Service Addendum, or program rules; (b) your conduct creates risk for Welcome.US, another participant, or the Services; (c) we are unable to verify required information; (d) a program, feature, or volunteer opportunity is no longer available; or (e) we need to do so for legal, safety, security, operational, or programmatic reasons. When your account or participation ends, your right to use the applicable Services ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive will survive, including provisions relating to information you submit, feedback, intellectual property, participant information, disclaimers, limits on responsibility, indemnification, dispute resolution, governing law, and your responsibility for your conduct.

Section 12. Changes to These Terms or the Services

We may update these Terms, the Community Guidelines, Service Addendums, or the Services from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice in a reasonable way, such as by posting the updated terms, sending an email, or asking you to review and accept the updated terms when you next log in.

If you do not agree to updated terms, you may stop using the Services and deactivate your account. In some cases, you may need to accept updated terms before continuing to use a Service.

We may also change, pause, discontinue, or limit any Service, program, tool, pairing, or volunteer opportunity at any time.

Section 13. Important Service Disclaimers

We work hard to provide meaningful, reliable, and supportive Services. At the same time, the Services depend on many factors outside our control, including participant availability, third-party services, technology, and individual conduct. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES AND ALL CONTENT, INFORMATION, TOOLS, PROGRAMS, PAIRINGS, VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES, STORE FEATURES, PRODUCTS, AND RELATED OFFERINGS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. WELCOME.US DOES NOT GUARANTEE THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, RELIABILITY, AVAILABILITY, SECURITY, OR RESULTS OF THE SERVICES. WELCOME.US ALSO DOES NOT GUARANTEE ANY PARTICULAR PAIRING, VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY, SESSION, PARTICIPANT CONDUCT, CITIZENSHIP OUTCOME, IMMIGRATION OUTCOME, EMPLOYMENT OUTCOME, FUNDRAISING OUTCOME, OR OTHER RESULT. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of the above may not apply to you.

Section 14. Limits on Responsibility

Limitation of Liability In this section, “Welcome.US Parties” means Welcome.US and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, partners, service providers, and agents.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE WELCOME.US PARTIES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, LOST OPPORTUNITIES, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES, THESE TERMS, YOUR PARTICIPATION IN A PROGRAM, OR YOUR INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER PARTICIPANTS.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WELCOME.US IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONDUCT, STATEMENTS, OMISSIONS, AVAILABILITY, RESPONSIVENESS, OR ACTIONS OF ANY PARTICIPANT OR THIRD PARTY, INCLUDING ANY VOLUNTEER, NEWCOMER, LEARNER, JOB SEEKER, EMPLOYER, PARTNER ORGANIZATION, FUNDRAISING PLATFORM, OR MESSAGING PLATFORM. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU RELEASE THE WELCOME.US PARTIES FROM CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER PARTICIPANTS OR THIRD PARTIES IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICES, INCLUDING OFF-PLATFORM COMMUNICATIONS OR MEETINGS. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE TOTAL LIABILITY OF THE WELCOME.US PARTIES FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100).

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. California Civil Code Section 1542 Waiver.

YOU HEREBY WAIVE CALIFORNIA CIVIL CODE SECTION 1542 (OR ANY EQUIVALENT STATUTORY PROVISION), WHICH STATES: "A GENERAL RELEASE DOES NOT EXTEND TO CLAIMS THAT THE CREDITOR OR RELEASING PARTY DOES NOT KNOW OR SUSPECT TO EXIST IN HIS OR HER FAVOR AT THE TIME OF EXECUTING THE RELEASE AND THAT, IF KNOWN BY HIM OR HER, WOULD HAVE MATERIALLY AFFECTED HIS OR HER SETTLEMENT WITH THE DEBTOR OR RELEASED PARTY." IF YOU ARE A RESIDENT OF A JURISDICTION OTHER THAN CALIFORNIA, YOU EXPLICITLY WAIVE THE TERMS AND PROTECTIONS OF ANY STATUTE OF YOUR JURISDICTION WITH A SIMILAR IMPORT OR INTENT.

Time to Bring Claims Except where prohibited by law, any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services must be brought within one year after the claim arises. Claims brought after that period are permanently barred.

Section 15. Indemnification

You are responsible for your own conduct and for the information and content you submit through the Services. To the extent permitted by law, you will indemnify and hold harmless Welcome.US and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, partners, service providers, and agents from claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or relating to: (a) your violation of these Terms, the Community Guidelines, a Service Addendum, or program rules; (b) your misuse of the Services; (c) your violation of law or the rights of another person; (d) content or information you submit through the Services; or (e) your intentional misconduct, fraud, or gross negligence.

Section 16. Governing Law, Venue, and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Before bringing a formal legal claim, we encourage you to contact us at [email protected] so we can try to resolve the issue informally. Most questions or concerns can be resolved more quickly that way.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, any legal action arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services must be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York, New York, unless applicable law requires otherwise. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you and Welcome.US each waive any right to have a dispute decided by a jury. This waiver applies to any dispute, claim, or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms, the Services, your account, your participation in any Welcome.US program, or your relationship with Welcome.US.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you and Welcome.US agree to resolve any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms, the Services, your account, your participation in any Welcome.US program, or your relationship with Welcome.US only on an individual basis. Neither you nor Welcome.US may bring or participate in any claim as a plaintiff, claimant, or class member in any class action, collective action, consolidated action, representative action, private attorney general action, or similar proceeding, except where applicable law does not allow this type of waiver.

Section 17. Availability and Translations

Welcome.US is based in the United States. We do not promise that the Services are appropriate or available in every location. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you are responsible for complying with local laws. We may provide translations of these Terms, the Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, or other materials. Translations are provided for convenience. If there is a conflict between the English version and a translated version, the English version controls, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Section 18. Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with any applicable Service Addendum, Community Guidelines, Store Terms and policies, and program rules that expressly apply to your use of the Services, are the entire agreement between you and Welcome.US regarding the Services.

You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our permission. Welcome.US may transfer its rights or obligations as part of a merger, reorganization, change in structure, or transfer of the Services.

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.

These Terms do not create rights for any third party. Section headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.

Welcome.US will not be liable for any failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

Section 19. Contact Information

If you have questions about these Terms, please contact Welcome.US at: Email: [email protected]

SERVICE ADDENDUMS

Service Addendum – Citizenship Volunteer Platform

Last Updated: 6/29/2026

This Service Addendum supplements the Welcome.US Terms of Service (the "General Terms") and applies to your use of the Welcome.US Citizenship Volunteer Platform (the "Citizenship Platform"). The Citizenship Platform is designed to help volunteers and participants connect for citizenship preparation support, which may include civics practice, English conversation practice, mock interview practice, and related support. If this Service Addendum conflicts with the General Terms, this Service Addendum controls for your use of the Citizenship Platform.

Volunteer Participation.

To participate as a volunteer tutor, you may need to create a Welcome.US account, complete a volunteer profile, provide information about your interests, experience, availability, language skills, communication preferences, and pairing preferences, complete any required orientation, training, or onboarding, and comply with all applicable program rules.

Welcome.US may consider this information when facilitating pairings, but participation and pairings are not guaranteed.

Learner Participation.

To participate as a learner or other participant seeking citizenship preparation support, you may need to create a Welcome.US account, complete a participant profile, provide information about your citizenship preparation goals, timing, availability, language preferences, communication preferences, and other program-related information, and comply with all applicable program rules. Welcome.US may use this information to administer the Citizenship Platform and facilitate pairings, as described in the Privacy Policy. Participation and pairings are not guaranteed.

Pairing and Contact Information.

Welcome.US may use information provided by volunteers and participants to facilitate pairings. We may consider factors such as availability, language, location, communication preferences, and other program needs, but we do not guarantee any particular pairing. Welcome.US may introduce paired participants by email or another program-approved method. After an introduction, paired participants may choose to communicate through the methods they selected or agreed to, such as email, phone, text message, WhatsApp, or other channels.

If you provide a phone number and choose phone, SMS, or WhatsApp as a communication method, Welcome.US may share your phone number with your paired participant so you can coordinate and participate in the program, as further described in the Privacy Policy. Please provide a phone number only if you are comfortable with that sharing. Your use of third-party communication tools may be subject to those third parties’ own terms and privacy policies.

You may not continue contacting a paired participant after a pairing ends or after the participant or Welcome.US asks you to stop, except as expressly permitted by Welcome.US.

Session Expectations and Conduct.

When participating in the Citizenship Platform, you agree to: (a) communicate respectfully and follow the Community Guidelines; (b) respect each participant’s time, privacy, boundaries, and communication preferences; (c) use contact information only for the applicable Welcome.US program; (d) communicate promptly if you need to reschedule or cancel; (e) if you are a volunteer, stay within the role of a volunteer tutor and not provide legal, immigration, financial, medical, or other professional advice; (f) not request money, gifts, donations, loans, employment, housing, sponsorship, or other financial or personal benefits from a paired participant; (g) report concerns or inappropriate conduct through the tools or contact information provided by Welcome.US; and (h) not record, photograph, screenshot, or share session content or participant information without appropriate permission and compliance with applicable law.

Feedback and Session Reporting.

Welcome.US may ask for feedback about your sessions or volunteer experience. This feedback helps us understand what is working, improve the program, support participants, and make future pairing or program decisions. You may not include sensitive personal information about another participant unless it is necessary to describe a safety, conduct, support, or program concern.

Opt-Out, Cancellation, and Issue Reporting.

You may opt out of a pairing, cancel a pairing, mark a pairing complete, or report an issue through the tools provided in the Citizenship Platform. Please report concerns if, for example, you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, your paired participant is unresponsive, scheduling is not working, you believe the Community Guidelines have been violated, or someone asks you for money or other financial support.

Welcome.US may review reports and take steps it considers appropriate, such as contacting participants, ending a pairing, limiting access, or taking other program-related action. Welcome.US does not guarantee any particular response or outcome.

No Guaranteed Outcomes.

The Citizenship Platform is intended to provide volunteer-based practice and support. Welcome.US does not guarantee any particular pairing, number of sessions, participant responsiveness, tutoring effectiveness, test result, citizenship outcome, immigration outcome, English-language outcome, or other result.

The Citizenship Platform is not a legal service, immigration service, professional tutoring service, or emergency service.

No Legal or Immigration Advice.

Volunteer tutors may help with practice, conversation, and general preparation, but they may not provide legal or immigration advice through the Citizenship Platform. If a participant needs legal or immigration advice, they should consult a qualified attorney or accredited representative.

If a volunteer tutor happens to be an attorney, accredited representative, teacher, or other professional outside the platform, that does not make their participation through the Citizenship Platform professional services provided by Welcome.US.

Safety/Emergency

If you believe there is an emergency or immediate danger, contact local emergency services. Welcome.US is not an emergency services provider and cannot guarantee an immediate response to reports submitted through the Citizenship Platform.

This Service Addendum (the “Fundraising Terms”) supplements the Welcome.US Terms of Service (the “General Terms”) and applies to donations, recurring donations, donor communications, payment features, donation pages, campaign pages, and other donor-facing fundraising functionality made available by or on behalf of Welcome.US, including through GoFundMe Pro, GoFundMe Pay, or related GoFundMe tools and services (collectively, the “Fundraising Features”). The Fundraising Features are designed to allow donors and supporters to make donations to Welcome.US and support Welcome.US’s charitable mission. If these Fundraising Terms conflict with the General Terms, these Fundraising Terms control for your use of the Fundraising Features.

GoFundMe Pro and Third-Party Fundraising Tools.

Some Fundraising Features may be powered, hosted, processed, or supported by GoFundMe, GoFundMe Pro, GoFundMe Pay, payment processors, donor-management tools, email or marketing tools, analytics providers, and other third-party service providers. Those third parties may have their own terms, privacy policies, payment terms, donor terms, and other policies. Please review those terms and policies carefully. Welcome.US does not control third-party services and is not responsible for their acts, omissions, availability, security, privacy practices, or processing activities, except to the extent required by applicable law.

Donations.

When you make a donation through the Fundraising Features, you are responsible for reviewing the donation amount, frequency, payment method, donor information, and any optional fees or other selections before submitting your donation. By submitting a donation, you authorize the applicable payment processor or fundraising platform to process your payment and any applicable fees or charges. Donations may be subject to payment-processing fees, platform fees, optional donor-covered fees, foreign exchange fees, failed-payment fees, chargeback fees, or other charges disclosed at checkout or by the applicable third-party provider.

Recurring Donations.

If you choose to make a recurring donation, you authorize the applicable payment processor or fundraising platform to charge your selected payment method on a recurring basis in the amount and frequency you select, until the recurring donation is cancelled or otherwise ends. You are responsible for keeping your payment information current. If a recurring payment fails, the applicable provider may attempt to process the payment again, contact you for updated payment information, or cancel or suspend the recurring donation, depending on the applicable provider’s terms and policies. You may cancel a recurring donation through the tools made available through the Fundraising Features.

Donation Receipts and Tax Deductibility.

Welcome.US is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations made directly to Welcome.US may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Any tax-deductibility information will be provided in the applicable donation materials, checkout flow, campaign page, or receipt. Welcome.US does not provide tax advice. Please consult your tax advisor regarding the deductibility of any donation.

Refunds, Chargebacks, and Payment Issues.

Donations are generally non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated by Welcome.US or the applicable third-party provider. If you believe a donation was made in error, was unauthorized, or presents another payment issue, please contact [email protected] promptly. Payment processors and fundraising platforms may have their own refund, chargeback, dispute, failed-payment, and reversal rules. Welcome.US does not guarantee that a donation transaction will be authorized, completed, settled, refunded, or free from chargeback, reversal, or other payment issue.

Donor Information and Communications.

When you use the Fundraising Features, you may provide personal information to Welcome.US, GoFundMe, payment processors, and other service providers, including your name, contact information, payment-related information, donation amount, donation frequency, campaign selections, and other information submitted through the Fundraising Features. Welcome.US handles personal information as described in the Privacy Policy. Third-party fundraising platforms and payment processors may process personal information under their own terms and privacy policies. By making a donation or using the Fundraising Features, you understand that Welcome.US may contact you about your donation, receipt, recurring donation, donor account, campaign participation, and related fundraising or donor communications, subject to applicable law and your communication preferences.

No Guaranteed Processing or Availability.

Welcome.US does not guarantee that any donation page, campaign page, recurring donation, recurring donor migration, or other Fundraising Feature will be available at any particular time, operate without interruption or error, generate any particular amount, or be free from failed transactions, declined payments, chargebacks, reversals, delays, technical limitations, or third-party provider issues.

Use of Donations.

Unless Welcome.US expressly states otherwise in the applicable donation materials, donations made through the Fundraising Features are intended to support Welcome.US and its charitable mission. Welcome.US may use donations in furtherance of its charitable purposes, subject to any restrictions expressly accepted by Welcome.US in writing or stated in the applicable donation materials.

Compliance.

You agree to use the Fundraising Features only for lawful purposes and in compliance with the General Terms, this Service Addendum, applicable third-party platform terms, and applicable law. Service Addendum – Welcome.US Store

Last Updated: 6/29/2026

This Service Addendum (the “Store Terms”) supplements the Welcome.US Terms of Service (the “General Terms”) and applies to your use of the Welcome.US online store and related products, shopping features, checkout flows, order-related features, and store policies (the “Store”). The Store is designed to allow users to browse and purchase products and related offerings made available by or on behalf of Welcome.US. These Store Terms include store-specific terms for products, orders, checkout, payment, pricing, returns, refunds, shipping, delivery, and related Store matters. If these Store Terms conflict with the General Terms, these Store Terms control for your use of the Store.

Access, Account, and Checkout Information.

To access certain Store features or place an order, you may be asked to provide information such as your name, email address, billing address, shipping address, payment information, and other order-related information. You agree to provide information that is accurate, current, and complete, and to promptly update any information as needed so that we can process your order and contact you about your purchase.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of any account credentials used in connection with the Store and for activity under your account.

Products and Product Information.

We try to describe and display Store products accurately. However, product images, colors, dimensions, descriptions, availability, and other product details may vary from how they appear on your device or from the final product you receive. The appearance or quality of a product may not meet your expectations or exactly match the depiction or rendering in the Store.

We may change product descriptions, prices, availability, designs, materials, sizes, colors, and other product details at any time. We may discontinue any product or limit quantities available for purchase by any person, geographic area, or jurisdiction.

Orders and Acceptance.

When you place an order through the Store, you are making an offer to purchase the products in your order. We may accept or decline any order at our discretion. Your order is not accepted until we confirm acceptance, and we must receive and process payment before an order is accepted.

Please review your order carefully before submitting it. We may not be able to accommodate cancellation or change requests after an order is submitted or accepted. If we do not accept an order, make a change to an order, or cancel an order, we will attempt to notify you using the email address, billing address, shipping address, phone number, or other contact information provided with your order.

You represent that your purchases are for your own personal or household use and not for commercial resale or export.

Prices, Promotions, Taxes, and Billing.

Prices, discounts, promotions, and product availability are subject to change without notice. The price charged for a product will be the price in effect when your order is placed and will be reflected in your order confirmation. Unless expressly stated otherwise, posted prices do not include taxes, shipping, handling, customs, import charges, or other charges that may apply.

Although Welcome.US is a nonprofit organization, purchases made through the Store are generally not tax-deductible. No portion of a purchase price should be treated as a tax-deductible donation unless the applicable product listing, checkout flow, receipt, or other Welcome.US communication expressly identifies a separate donation component.

Promotions may be subject to additional terms. If promotion terms conflict with these Store Terms, the promotion terms will control for that promotion.

You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase, payment, billing, shipping, and account information for all Store purchases. You represent that you are authorized to use the payment method you provide and that you will pay all charges incurred by you at the posted prices, including shipping, handling, taxes, and other applicable charges.

Errors, Inaccuracies, and Omissions.

Occasionally, information in the Store may contain typographical errors, inaccuracies, or omissions, including information relating to product descriptions, pricing, promotions, offers, shipping charges, transit times, taxes, availability, or other Store information.

We may correct errors, inaccuracies, or omissions, update information, change or cancel orders, or refuse orders if any information in the Store or in an order is inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated, including after you have submitted an order.

Returns, Refunds, and Defective Items.

All sales are final except for defective items as described in this Section. We do not accept returns or exchanges for change of mind, fit, color preference, or any reason other than a defective item.

If you receive an item that you believe is defective, please contact us at [email protected] within 30 days after the delivery date with: (1) your order number or other proof of purchase; (2) a description of the defect; and (3) clear photographs showing the defect. Please do not return any item before contacting us; we will provide return instructions if applicable.

To be eligible for a replacement or refund, the item must be unworn, unwashed, unused, and otherwise in its original condition. We may decline claims for items that have been damaged through normal wear, misuse, improper care, or alteration after delivery. Whether an item is defective will be determined in our reasonable discretion.

If we confirm that an item is defective, we may, in our discretion, provide a replacement, subject to availability, or issue a refund to the original payment method. Please allow up to 10 business days after we approve your claim for the refund to be processed. Your bank or card issuer may require additional time to post the credit.

If a defective-item claim is approved, we will cover reasonable return shipping costs for the defective item and any shipping costs for a replacement.

Shipping and Delivery.

Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and displayed at checkout. Delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Delivery estimates begin after order processing and do not include weekends or holidays unless expressly stated. We ship to all 50 states, Washington, DC, U.S. P.O. Boxes, U.S. territories, and APO/FPO/DPO addresss.Additional fees and longer transit times may apply to orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, or other locations.

Orders may be delivered by UPS and other carriers. Once your order ships, we may send a confirmation email with tracking information if tracking is available.

We are not liable for shipping or delivery delays. We are not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers, customs processing, weather, labor disruptions, incorrect shipping information, or events outside our control.

Because some products may be fulfilled by third-party print-on-demand or fulfillment providers, items in a single order may ship separately, in multiple packages, or from different locations, and may arrive at different times. Print-on-demand and made-to-order items may require additional processing time.

Title and risk of loss for products pass to you when we transfer the products to the carrier. If your order arrives damaged, please contact us at [email protected] within 30 days after delivery with your order number and photographs, and retain all packaging and damaged items, as the carrier may require them to process a claim. We will work with you and the carrier in good faith to address the issue, but we are not responsible for packages lost or damaged in transit after title and risk of loss have passed.

Relationship with Shopify and Other Third-Party Providers.

The Store may be powered by Shopify and supported by third-party payment processors, fulfillment providers, shipping carriers, customer support providers, analytics providers, advertising partners, and other service providers. Unless expressly stated otherwise, purchases through the Store are made with Welcome.US, not Shopify or any other third-party provider. Shopify and other third-party providers may have their own terms and privacy policies, and Store-related personal information is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. Welcome.US is not responsible for third-party services except to the extent required by applicable law.

Optional Tools and Third-Party Links.

The Store may provide access to third-party tools, applications, features, links, or embedded functionality. These tools and links are provided for convenience and may be subject to third-party terms and privacy policies. Welcome.US does not control third-party tools or websites and is not responsible for their content, availability, security, privacy practices, products, services, or actions.

Store Reviews and Feedback.

If the Store allows you to submit reviews, comments, photos, feedback, suggestions, or other content, you are responsible for that content. You represent that you have the rights necessary to submit it, that it is accurate and not misleading, and that it does not violate the rights of any third party or applicable law.

Welcome.US may use Store reviews and feedback as described in the General Terms, including to operate, provide, evaluate, improve, and promote the Store and Welcome.US offerings. Welcome.US may review, remove, or restrict Store reviews or feedback where it believes doing so is appropriate, including if the content is unlawful, misleading, offensive, infringing, or inconsistent with the General Terms or these Store Terms.

If you received compensation, a discount, free product, or any other incentive in connection with a review or feedback, you must clearly disclose that fact.

Store-Specific Warranty Disclaimer.

The disclaimers in the General Terms apply to the Store and all products purchased through the Store. In addition, to the maximum extent permitted by law, and except as expressly stated by Welcome.US in these Store Terms or in an applicable product listing, all Store products are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, durability, title, and non-infringement.

Welcome.US does not warrant that any product will meet your expectations, match product images or descriptions exactly, be available at any particular time, or be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from inaccuracies in product descriptions, pricing, promotions, shipping charges, transit times, or availability. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty limitations, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.

In addition, to the maximum extent permitted by law, Welcome.US and the other Welcome.US Parties will not be liable for any injury, loss, claim, damage, delay, delivery issue, product issue, error, omission, or other matter arising out of or relating to your use of the Store or any product purchased through the Store, except to the extent liability cannot be limited under applicable law.
