WHY IT MATTERS
Nearly 13 million refugees and green card holders—people who have undergone extensive vetting to gain legal status—are building their lives here in the United States. They've put down roots, contributed to our communities, and chosen America as home. They’re Americans in every way but one: they still need to complete the naturalization process.
Naturalization is already a rigorous process, with background checks, vetting, and an interview that includes both a civics and an English proficiency test.
Recent policy changes have created new barriers to citizenship for eligible newcomers who arrived in the U.S. through safe and legal pathways. This is where you come in.
