Reunited at last: A family’s journey to reunification
When Kabul fell to the Taliban in 2021, newcomers Sediqa and her sister Mursal quickly evacuated to the United States because Sediqa's advocacy work put her at risk. Their parents and siblings remained behind. Sediqa soon joined Welcome.US, supporting fellow newcomers while tirelessly searching for a way to reunite her family. After three years, through their kindness and commitment, the Team Fahimi sponsorship group succeeded in bringing this family back together.
