Hang a flyer, support a neighbor

Connect aspiring Americans in your community to one-on-one support through the Citizen Guide program.

Help aspiring Americans access free support when pursuing citizenship

There are 8.7 million green card holders across the country who are eligible for citizenship—yet fewer than 1 in 10 apply each year. The process is costly and complex, and deep cuts to social services make it harder to find the guidance and support they need.

That’s where you come in: Volunteers can share flyers with local libraries or other community spaces to raise awareness about the Citizen Guide program. Sometimes the biggest challenge to citizenship is just knowing what resources are available. You can be part of spreading the word.

3. Post materials in publicly accessible places

Post materials in publicly accessible places such as community bulletin boards, a community college, an English as a Second Language (ESL) class, or a library. (Always check with staff prior to posting.)

4. Share your impact

Post and share! Help us track how many communities the outreach project reaches. Tag @welcome.us on social media or email [email protected] to share your progress.

The Citizenship Outreach Project is a simple, meaningful way for you to bring these resources closer to the people who need them, connecting eligible green card holders to the support they need during the final steps to U.S. citizenship.

We've received a great response from local libraries who see the value and need for resources like citizenship prep in their communities. Libraries are trusted community spaces where people can find information, build skills, and connect with resources—and we’re excited to help make citizenship preparation more accessible to those who need it.
