Mahnaz was a female tactical platoon leader in Afghanistan, but in her quest for safety, she was forced to leave everything behind. Though she mourns the loss of her homeland, she finds solace in a welcoming community. Honor the Promise's mission is to help Afghan allies, particularly the men and women of the Afghan Special Operations community, settle into their new lives in the United States and ensure they feel valued and welcomed. The hosting of nationwide community dinners is one way Afghan newcomers like Mahnaz have been able to connect with members of their communities. It's a chance for them to share their experiences, find support, and feel a sense of belonging. Honor the Promise programs help Americans welcome and support the community-level integration of Afghan families who have recently arrived. We are proud to partner with Honor the Promise.
