Kansans are Rallying Together to Welcome Afghan Arrivals

Hundreds of people evacuated from Afghanistan will start new lives in Kansas over the next few months.


That has refugee resettlement groups rallying their staffs and volunteers to find homes, jobs and a myriad of other essentials for the families who fled their war-torn country.


“We’ve had an incredible response,” said Kasey Featherston, director of refugee and immigration services for Catholic Charities in Kansas City. “So it’s been really heartwarming to see the community respond.”
