Interfaith Ministries’ Volunteers Gift Cars to Arriving Families

Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston hosted an event to spotlight volunteer community members who raised donations to purchase cars for six newly arriving Afghan refugee families.

For more than 30 years, Interfaith Ministries has been welcoming refugees from around the globe. The Refugee Services program, in conjunction with the U.S. State Department and Episcopal Migration Ministries, annually resettles hundreds of refugees in Houston.

Interfaith Ministries president and CEO, Martin B. Cominsky, offered remarks. “As Afghan allies fleeing persecution and violence in Afghanistan begin to arrive in Houston, Interfaith Ministries and a team of local volunteers are ready to welcome them and help them get resettled,” said Cominsky.
