Interested in helping someone prepare for the U.S. citizenship exam? Becoming a U.S. citizen is one of the most significant milestones in an aspiring American’s journey. No one should have to navigate it alone.

Join Welcome.US on July 9 at 2 p.m. ET for the launch of our Citizen Guide program, a new volunteer initiative equipping Welcomers to support green card holders as they prepare for the citizenship exam. Hear directly from a Citizen Guide volunteer and a learner in the program on their experience, and learn how you can get involved.

Our story as a nation of Welcomers continues with this new chapter. Welcome.US started in 2021 by mobilizing Americans to support and welcome our Afghan allies, and we proved something powerful: When Americans are given the opportunity to directly help new neighbors find a sense of community and belonging, they show up. Today, 8.7 million green card holders are eligible to become U.S. citizens, yet fewer than 1 in 10 pursue the process each year because of the complexity of the process and a lack of support. The Citizen Guide program empowers Welcomers to be the one person who makes a difference in unlocking the final, most challenging step of an aspiring American’s journey.

Whether you're considering volunteering, looking to bring this opportunity to your organization, or simply curious what it looks like to help a neighbor become a citizen, this webinar is worth your time.

What we'll cover:

  • The story behind the Citizen Guide program and how it works
  • A live conversation with a Citizen Guide volunteer and an aspiring American
  • How to sign up as a Citizen Guide
  • How national and local service groups and community organizations can get involved
