February 24 marked one year of war in Ukraine, but also one full of remarkable courage and resilience by the Ukrainian people. Everyday, Americans and newcomers together demonstrate the power of community and compassion, exemplifying the values we cherish: freedom, democracy, and a safe place to call home. Despite the inspiring progress made, millions of Ukrainians remain displaced in Europe, forced to flee their homes and seek safety. As the war rages on, people in the United States can take action, offering warmth and support through sponsorship and other acts of welcome.
